How HalalVerified Tasks works
HalalVerified Tasks is a marketplace open to everyone, whatever their background or religion. Customers post tasks; independent providers make offers; the customer chooses. Providers are independent — they are not our employees — and are responsible for their own work, licences, insurance and taxes.
Fees
- Online payments aren’t switched on yet. Customers and providers arrange payment directly, and no fees are charged.
Cancellations & refunds
- Customers can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before the agreed date, or any time before a date is agreed.
- Later cancellations by the customer: the provider keeps 10% of the price; the rest is refunded.
- If the provider cancels, the customer gets a full refund and the task reopens.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Completion & disputes
When the provider marks a job done, the customer confirms it. If the customer doesn’t respond within 3 days the booking completes automatically. Either side can open a dispute before completion or up to 14 days after. Our team reviews messages, booking details and uploaded evidence and may refund all or part of the payment through Stripe.
Verification & badges
- Providers can only make offers after our team checks their photo ID, and any licence, insurance or Working With Children Check their category needs.
- Badges show what we checked and when. They are not a guarantee of work quality — read reviews and ask questions.
- Muslim-owned badge: optional. “Self-declared” means the owner told us the business is Muslim-owned and we haven’t checked it. “Evidence reviewed” means our team reviewed ownership documents. Either way it describes ownership only — it is not halal certification of any product or service.
Not allowed
Illegal tasks; weapons; adult services; anything unsafe; asking to pay or talk outside the platform before booking; fake reviews or badges; discrimination or harassment. We may remove content and suspend accounts.
Reviews
Only the customer and provider on a completed booking can review each other, once each. We don’t write, buy or edit reviews. We may hide reviews that break these rules.
Privacy
We collect your name, email, postcode, task details and messages to run the marketplace. Providers also give ID and licence documents for verification and tax details for ATO reporting where required. Documents are stored privately and only our team can open them. Your exact address is shared only with the provider you book. You can ask for a copy of your data or for your account to be deleted from your dashboard.
